Hooray for refund checks! That must've been a great surprise. :-)
Ugh, layers of paint. In the apartment my mom used to rent (it was one floor of an old Victorian house), the company who owned the house used to paint the walls white each time a new tenant moved in, without removing any previous paint. So much wonderful woodwork was obscured by thick layers of paint. Also, they never removed the wallpaper that a previous owner must've had up, and we could see (and feel!) the design through the paint.
I know you guys are going to make that house look fab-you-luss. Especially in that office room that's floor-to-ceiling-to-heat-register covered in that wallpaper. Eeeugh!
