So I went to the realtor's office tonight. She called me this afternoon to let me know that she couldn't be there but that another agent was going to be there to go through faxing everything to Andy to sign and initial. However, we still hadn't talked price. I mentioned that to the agent who was helping me and so he called Eileen on her cell. I talked to her for a moment and she said she hadn't had a chance to pull a list of comparables but she was thinking we might list at $68,500. I froze. Obviously that is less than what we were hoping to get espeically considering she gets a 6% commission. I didn't know what to do, especailly without Andy there to chime in, so I didn't sign anything and we didn't fax anything to Andy and she is going to call Andy tonight to talk about pricing.

And Bill just called wanting to set up a conference call for 7:30 p.m. tonight. I don't know why. I didn't ask. He didn't sound happy. Andy things the seller's refused our offer but made a counter offer.

I don't know what to think. Or feel.

ETA: Bill just wanted to let us know he had met with the seller's realtor. She told him that they need to walk away with 80K from this house. He was expecting to hear from her before our call but hadn't. He expects to hear from them tomorrow.

I'm not sure what you mean by WTF was she think/WTF was she doing. In regards to what? I don't know what came up, perhaps it was a family thing. I didn't have my cell phone on me yesterday and she made the effort to track me down and let me know she had a conflict and make sure it was alright that I meet with this other agent. However, I had forgotten that we still needed to set a price and didn't remember until later after we were off the phone. At that point I couldn't get a hold of her again. Anyway, even after pull the comparables and sending them to Andy and talking to Andy, she still suggests $68,500.

I just thought it was inappropriate of her to ask you to sign things when she wasn't there, regardless of reason, especially when you had not set a price or discussed it. It bothered me that she didn't speak to you about this--I mean, whether or not you forgot, I feel like she should have remembered. But that's just me ...

I agree. She should have remembered. I don't know what came up or why she forgot but it happens. I would have had no problems signing things without her there as long as we had decided on a price. But there was no way I was going to sign and then leave that spot blank. The main reason we had to meet again for the signing of stuff was because we had to use her fax to send the stuff to Andy to get his signature. Otherwise we probably could have worked things out more smoothly. Regardless we're waiting on listing for the moment as my aunt and uncle want to come see the house.

Ooooh! It would be so great if your aunt and uncle want it.

I agree 100%--I wouldn't have signed anything either without agreeing on a price. Hence my "WTF was she doing?" thinking.

I gotta say, this whole process is making me glad we didn't try to sell our house yet. D: This is waaaay more stressful than just buying.

I think, with whatever had come up, that she must have just forgotten. I really don't know. Other than that she's been very nice and helpful.

My aunt and uncle are looking to move to PA apparently. I didn't know this until like... yesterday. So they are going to come and check it out sometimes soon. I guess my uncle had never been in the house despite being here for parties and such. They were always in the summer, so he never actually had to come in for anything. So he wants to see the inside. They have a big family though, so we'll just have to see what they think.

I think buying and selling wouldn't be so stressful if we didn't have a deadline, you know? Like it's not just a we want to sell situation, it's a we have to sell situation.

Yeah, it kind of like that, particularly when you throw in trying to find a new job.
